Rent of apartments by the sea in Spain has risen this summer

27 June 2017

This summer the rental of properties in Spain on the shores of some of the Spanish beaches rose by 10% and 30% more compared to 2014. On the Mediterranean or Atlantic coast, an apartment with sea views in Spain will have a price of at least 729 euros per week, according to the independent appraisal company “TecniTasa”. A year ago, this budget was equal to 664 euros. According to Jose Maria Basanez Agarrado, the president of TecniTasa, "the trend of the increase in the average cost of renting summer properties in the beaches and coasts of Spain is confirmed, which happens in parallel with the general strengthening of the economic recovery in the country."

The good news is that the offer of rental properties in Spain is diverse, and therefore their value may also be different. Therefore, according to the valuation company, the cheapest rent is situated in Burela (Lugo), Galicia, where you can rent an apartment of 60 m2 for 200 euros per week, i.e. for the same price as years ago. On the other side of the classification is the Balearic island of Ibiza, where the price increase is a real nonsense: in Santa Eulalia for an apartment of 100 square meters is currently requested the price of 3,400 euros per week, and in the area of Platja De'n Bossa for the apartment of 70 m2 is paid about 2,300 euros per week, when two years ago this price was equal to 1,700 euros / week.

On the other of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca, prices are slightly lower. For example, in Alcudia the rent of an apartment of 70 m2 is worth 1,300 euros per week, and in the seafront of the capital of the island for an apartment of 80 m2 it is necessary to pay about 1,050 euros for a week of vacations. In addition, there is the magnificent Menorca, which prices range from 1,200 euros in the historic center of the island's capital to 630 euros for a 65-meter apartment in the port of Addaia. And in the Canary Islands, the rental prices drop even more. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife offer apartments from 35 to 55 square meters for prices between 300 and 550 euros per week during summer holiday.

With regard to the Mediterranean coast, in this case in Catalonia, it is difficult to find a price lower than a 1,000 euros per week, especially in Sitges (Barcelona), Salou (Tarragona) and Cadaques (Girona). Apartments for rent for the summer holidays in Spain cost here between 1,100 and 1,600 euros per week. In addition, in a region called el Levante, which extends along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the possibilities are enormous. The cheapest options for renting apartments in Spain, however, are situated in Oliva (Valencia) and in Moncofar (Castellon), where for 325 euros per week you can find an apartment for rent on the sea shore, or for 375 euros in Denia (Alicante). If your budget allows, you can rent an apartment in La Playa de San Juan for 605 euros per week, in Alcoceber (Castellon) for 700 euros per week, or in Alboraia (Valencia) for 750 euros per week. In Murcia the prices of the apartments are very similar and they go from 425 euros in Cartagena, 575 euros in Mazarron, to 650 euros in some urbanizations of the town Aguilas.
