At the present, the Russian market is one of the most important. From 10% to 15% of the total number of buyers are citizens of the Russian Federation, the French represent from 5 % to 10% and are followed by the Belgians, Swedish and Norwegians.
Russian buyers prefer homes and apartments with sea views, close to the beach or on the front sea.

Buyers from Russia are rising in the ranking of foreign investors in real estate
According to a recent report published in 2012 by “Land Registry Office of Spain”, citizens of the Russian Federation are located on the third place in the number of owned properties in Spain, exchanging this place in the ranking with German citizens, who held that position till 2011 .
The demand for Spanish property by Russian buyers began in 2007, thus coinciding with the beginning of the crisis in the construction sector. Since then, demand has been increasing at a significant pace from year to year, registering a growth of 135 % over last year, from 1,008 in 2007 to 2,339 bought real estate in 2012.
Currently, real estate in Spain, registered on the Russian citizens, is 9.6% of the total number of objects in the name of foreign citizens and 12% of the total number of transactions made by Europeans in Spain.
If we analyze in detail the preferences of this group , we can see that the majority of Russians are looking for and prefer real estate on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, and in particular in the cities of Torrevieja (Alicante Province), Valencia and Murcia. In second place in popularity among Russian citizens are Barcelona, Marbella and, more recently, Canary Islands. This information is confirmed by statistical indicators obtained from one of the most popular portals for real estate in Russia.
Requests on the real estate portal also help us to draw conclusions about the price preferences of Russians.
For a house or apartment with a sea view 60% of Russian citizens are arranged to pay less than 100,000 euros , 15% - less than 150,000 euros and the other 15 % - less than 300.000 euros, while very important 10% are considering buying property in Spain worth more than 300,000 euros.
Russian demand for Spanish property continued to rise since 2007 in search of sun, sea and great deals.
