Asian investments in Spain

President of the Government of Spain, Mariano Rajoy has successfully used the trip to the countries of the Asian continent and has concluded agreements with local companies for 600 million euros, according to official sources.

In early September, the government delegation led by Prime Minister of Spain went on an official visit to Kazakhstan. The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen the Hispanic- Asian cooperation in the economic, commercial, business, scientific and cultural spheres between the two countries. In addition, it was envisaged to visit Japan to promote the brand of Spain as a reliable business partner and investment direction of Asian capital money. Spain in recent years openly express an interest to the countries of the Asian region as a strategic partner. It's safe to say that the outcome of a business trip, the delegation of ministers of Spain and led by Mariano Rajoy, coped with the tasks. The main achievements were signed contracts for more than 600 million euros to be invested in the Spanish economy of Asian countries.

With colleagues from Kazakhstan of the state railway association was negotiated and signed a bilateral agreement for the company “Talgo” – Spanish manufacturer of high-speed trains. Thus, the company's engineers of “Talgo” design, build, deliver and sell modern compositions of high-speed trains for use on commuter trains in Kazakhstan. The project has an initial cost of 400 million euros. The signed contract includes the construction of the necessary parts and components in Spain or plant owned by the company “Talgo” and located in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan. The presence of Spanish construction company “Talgo” has increased dramatically in the central-asia country in recent years. Nowadays the company “Talgo” offers the maintenance of trains in Kazakhstan. The contract was signed for 15 years and is estimated at 1,000 million euros.

Another important achievement was the signing of an agreement with the Japanese auto company “Nissan” to expand its activities in Spain.

“Nissan” has pledged to invest the necessary funds in the amount of 200 million euros for the production of another model car at the factory in Barcelona.
