Issuance of visas to foreign investors has increased by 4 times

Signs of recovery in the Spanish property market continue to emerge and strengthen their position.

Thus, the recovery of the housing market, it seems, is already causing less doubt, as also the general improvement in the Spanish economy. Less destruction of jobs, fall in prices, and in recent months, the gradual recovery of credits’ concession, primarily were the reasons that every month is made more real estate transactions. In addition, some provences of Spain has resumed the construction of new houses, which is an important indicator of the overall situation in the country.

And if the volume of real estate sales increases, one of the first markets, which felt the movement, is the market of expensive real estate in Spain, that is, the objects worth more than 500,000 euros. According to the General Council of Notaries, 2,345 transactions were registered up to June 2014 with an average transaction amount in excess of this figure, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year and, thus, in just six months of this year has been made almost the same volume of transactions, which was recorded for the entire 2012 (which ended with 2,366 purchases).

Thus, it seems that this year will be the best in terms of sales volume of luxury housing. Previously, the record was achieved in 2007, with the number 2,659 in real estate sales. Experts believe that this dramatic improvement in the exclusive segment of the Spanish property market has been associated with great work of the tourism sector and the restoration of the Spanish economy, which is no longer perceived as a country on the verge of bankruptcy.

In addition, the official figures provided by the Ministry of Economy show that up to the third quarter of this year was only issued 260 visas to investors, and this figure represents only 11% of the purchases of real estate made for the amount above 500,000 euros, despite the incredible growth in 504 %, compared with 43 permits issued earlier this year.
