This week has been compiled and published the international rating of the European cities that prefer big brands to open their branches and stores.
Spain is one of the leading destinations for international brands, with Madrid and Barcelona in the top ten most favourite cities. At the European level, the capital of Spain is situated in fifth place as an international choice for large operators, while Barcelona is located on the tenth position. With regard to “retailers”, Zara is the leader in the ranking of companies with presence in 100% of key markets.
Despite the economic crisis, in Madrid, the amount of rent retail space in prime locations is increasing, while in Barcelona there is a stabilization of rental rates and the growth of interest in the main areas of the city to open stores. The average efficiency of areas in the capital is 7.2%, while in Barcelona 7%, according to data released by a major Internet portal Idealista.com.
Demonstrated high interest from major operators such as Zara, H & M, MANGO, The Body Shop and Starbucks, on the basis of which was made the rating of the top ten places in Europe, according to a study conducted by real estate consultant company JLL.
Among European cities, London remains the preferred destination for international retailers, followed by Paris, Moscow, Milan and Madrid in fifth position that is ahead, so other cities like Rome or Berlin. Barcelona is in tenth place, ahead of other well-known places such as Amsterdam, St. Petersburg, Prague or Vienna.
