The Catalan capital will have a new official mark elegant of “Upper Diagonal”, thus will contribute to the commercial and tourist attraction of the city.
The phrase “High Diagonal” is no longer a reason to joke for residents and visitors to the Catalan capital: Barcelona will have a new brand to attract tourists. The project, approved by the city council, includes the creation of an expansion of the city centre.
Barcelona has invented a new brand to promote their most elegant and fashionable neighbourhoods. The mayor, Xavier Trias, made official the creation of the brand “Upper Diagonal” as a slogan to attract tourists to the noble area of the city. The creation of this brand is part of the plan of tourism in the area Les Corts, which is still under development.
According to the City Hall, promoting the new “Upper Diagonal” will contribute to the development and attraction of the tourism sector to the exclusive area of the city. In addition, Les Corts has all necessary infrastructure for this purpose and, according to the mayor of Barcelona, should be used for the benefit of the city's the “quality hotels in the area with a commitment to inclusion and building wealth of exclusive tourism”. In particular, the mayor's office hopes to use to promote interesting events such as Intenz Diagonal and Shopping Night, which takes place every year in one of the main shopping streets of Barcelona.
Invention of such brand already has precedent in the history of Barcelona: the creation of the trademark and business Upper Diagonal Business & Leisure, which was invented in the last year by the owners of the ten hotels in the Old Town, the Palace Congress and L'Illa mall. The main objective of the project was and remains the integration in the Catalan capital in trade, hotel business and conference tourism to increase the level of satisfaction of business visitors.
Now a new brand returns with great enthusiasm and is targeted to a wide range of tourists.
The Les Corts district plan will be implemented in 2015, along with ten other projects, one for each district of the capital of Catalonia.
