On board the European airlines will be allowed to use mobile phones and tablets

Europe will allow aircraft passengers to use mobile phones, mp3- players and tablets on board even during takeoff and landing. Provided, however, that «smart devices” should be in the “on board” mode, in which you cannot receive or make calls and send messages. Thanks to the new rules passengers can play games, watch videos or listen to music during the flight and during take-off or landing of aircraft.

Great news for all users and passengers of the aircrafts in Europe. The European Community has approved new regulations regarding the use of smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices on board the aircraft, and it is time critical maneuvers: taking off and landing at the destination airport.

According to the official statement of the European Air Safety Association (EASA), passengers will be able to use mobile phones and other devices in the “on board” mode, which does not allow the call or connect to the Internet over a wireless connection Wi-Fi, but at the same time makes it possible to use “smart devices” to view the video, movie, to hear to music, or to make the necessary document, which is important for people traveling for business purposes.

EASA official statement will be published and will come into force for European airlines at the end of November 2013, with this new provision does not apply to large electronic devices such as laptops and portable computers, which must be turned off during takeoff and landing aircraft.

European Air Safety Association in its official address says that “since the entry into force of the new regulations on the use of electronic devices on board aircraft , European airlines can themselves determine the use of mobile devices by passengers in the “on board” mode with a view to ensuring maximum safety for throughout the flight”.

According to the executive director of the European Association of Air Safety, Patrick Ky, “association understands that more and more passengers use the “smart” mobile phones and tablets on board the aircraft and is working to ensure their safe use.”
