Selling of real estate in Spain increased by 22.8 %

Official data for March 2014 on the number of transactions for the purchase and sale of real estate in Spain say that the number of transactions increased by 22.8 % after 10 consecutive months, during which was recorded a decline in this indicator.

In March of this year was 27,047 closed transactions in Spanish property , of which 15,716 transactions were the sale of a resale property . The amount of these transactions increased by 35.5%. Annual ranking of March contrasts sharply with the decline in February this year, when home sales fell by 27.6%. February was the month of low sales, but we can say that March 2014 behaved radically differently. In the third month of the year , real estate sales in Spain increased by 22.8 % compared with the same month in 2013 , and a total of 27,047 transactions were recorded. In the first three months of this year, the overall decline in sales of real estate amounted to 14.4%. These are the official data of the National Statistics Institute (INE) of Spain. Thus, it was put an end to the prolonged period of ten consecutive months, during which the number of real estate transactions in Spain declined steadily.

Annual sales growth of real estate in Spain, according to experts, was due largely to increasing of sales of resale properties, which accounted for 15,716 of the total number of operations and transactions increased by 35, 5 % in March 2014. Meanwhile, sales of new homes and apartments rose by 8.7 % and reached 11,331 operations. Most of the transactions of buying and selling property in Spain in the third month of the year, namely 90.1%, were conducted with housing, which is in free sale.

At the same time, Andalusia is still headed by the amount of real estate transactions in the third month of the year with 5,715 operations , followed by Catalonia (3,944 ) , Madrid ( 3,941 ) and Valencia ( 3,529 ). In percentage terms, the largest increase was registered in the Balearic Islands (+71 % ), in Catalonia (+42.8 %) and Extremadura (+41.7 %).
