Spain is ready for the difficulties of e-commerce

Mastercard Company has prepared a report which analyzes the development of the most advanced countries in the field of e-commerce. According to the results of this report, Spain has been among the countries, which  better than others, are prepared for the challenges and difficulties that occur when you use e-commerce. Spain, therefore, is on the 25th place in the international ranking.

MasterCard presented at the World Retail Congress, dedicated to retail commerce – a new report entitled “Digital Evolution Index”, which is an annual analysis, developed by Fletcher Business School at Tufts University, of preparetin of the countries best prepared for solving the problems of e-commerce in the coming years. Of the 50 countries analyzed, Spain appears in the middle of the list, ranking the 25th place.

According to this index, released yesterday by MasterCard, Singapore, Sweden and Hong Kong occupy the top three places in the world, and so they are the countries best prepared for adoption of the next billion of new users who will use the services of e-commerce in the near future. Switzerland and the United Kingdom complete the top five, while the United States ranks on the sixth place in the international ranking. On the other hand, China, Malaysia and Thailand are examples of three countries that have achieved and demonstrated a broad and rapid development in the field of e-commerce.

While developed countries dominate the high ranking positions, the ranking changes in the analysis of the rate of adaptation to the age of e-commerce. Each country has its own particular course of development and implementation in its territory of necessary tools for the implementation of the security of payment transactions on the Internet. Therefore, a study, conducted by MasterCard, has taken into account and assessed the evolution of each market from 2008 to 2013  to understand and compare the progress of each country and identify the areas for improvement.
