The Gastronomic Festival “Tast a La Rambla” in Barcelona

Barcelona offers a variety of dishes in the gastronomic festival “Tast a La Rambla” (“Taste of La Rambla”), in which will also participate the Chef Albert Adrià. Public and all cooking lovers will have the opportunity on June 15 to try some of the dishes of the best bars, restaurants and bakeries of the city. This initiative wants to become great gastronomic landmark of Barcelona.

At Thursday, June 12, 2014, will open its first edition gastronomic festival “Taste of La Rambla” (Tast a La Rambla) – Week of cuisine in Barcelona. Large culinary festival featuring 42 best restaurants, bars and bakeries of the city will be held in the center and close to the sea, on Santa Monica Boulevard till Sunday 15 June and will offer residents and visitors the opportunity to try some of their dishes.

“Tast a La Rambla” is a new innovative initiative of the Association of Friends, residents and businesses of Santa Monica boulevard of Barcelona and GSR Group, with the support of the city council. Carried out in the early summer, the initiative is intended to be the big gastronomic attraction of the city, while the La Rambla, is stated as the main leisure center for all visitors and residents of Barcelona. At the same time, the festival “Tast a La Rambla” is intended to emphasize the quality and variety of local cuisine, which is famous for its excellent taste and quality of products.

The event will include the participation of 42 institutions distributed across the four thematic areas of the proposals that define Barcelona gastronomy: cuisine, traditional cuisine, tapas and snacks and confectionery. Visitors will have at its disposal a bar and tasting area. Each dish will cost 4.50 euros. This is a unique opportunity to try the creations of many prominent restaurateurs, awarded a Michelin star, bars and bakeries in the city.

This proposal aims to show the diversity and importance of food in Barcelona, as well as hospitality to tourists in the city, especially in the Old Town, in particular, on the Ramblas. The opening ceremony of the gastronomic festival will take place on Thursday, June 12, at 12:30 at the Faculty of Arts Santa Monica, where there will be all the chefs participating in the festival “Tast a La Rambla”.
