Tourism boom in Spain

According to forecasts from the state tourism agency Exceltur tourism sector in Spain has emerged from the crisis and continues to grow. In particular, it is projected that up to 2013 this is an important lever of Spain will rise by 0.2 %, which means the beginning of economic growth after several years of decline and stagnation. Mostly, the projected growth of the tourism sector has been made possible thanks to the foreign tourists who visited Spain this year. Autonomous region of Spain – Canary and Balearic Islands and Catalonia – have become the most visited in 2013.

Furthermore, the complicated political situation in Egypt has contributed to a significant increase in the number of tourists from Russia to Spain.

Spain returns to the tourism activity, as evidenced by statistics and optimistic forecasts of experts. There is every reason to believe that finally wound up tourist “engine” of the country. If at the end of the second quarter projections were not optimistic at all, then n of the third quarter of 2013 everything changed significantly and professionals have to say about the economic growth of the tourism industry by 0.2 %.

With this tourism will make a significant positive contribution to the overall revitalization of the Spanish economy, which is currently not in the best moment. According to official data of the State Tourism Agency Exceltur, tourism growth has allowed the creation of 11,525 jobs in 2013 in Spain, which is the best result among all sectors of the economy.

The main lever within the tourism industry has become international tourism in Spain, the Spanish economy, which has brought 45,110 million euros at the end of 2013, which amounted to 1,500 million euros more than in 2012.

A travel agency and tour operators have increased sales by 60, 6% and 71.9 %, respectively.

Among the autonomous regions of Spain, the most significant growth of foreign tourism has occurred in the Canary, Balearic Islands and Catalonia by 7.6 % , 4.8 % and 4.2 %, respectively.

Thus, the reality of the tourism sector in Spain exceeded the most positive expectations.
