The Catalan capital wants to show tourists the unexplored areas and interesting sights which are situated in different areas of the city. And for that, the city administration has developed new interesting and unexpected routes for everyone, both for visitors and for residents. Barcelona – it's much more than Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera , the stadium “Camp Nou” and Park Guell . More than half of the tourists who return to the city, are interested in viewing other beautiful monuments and sights of the Catalan capital . For them is designed the new initiative of the government of the city.

In addition, opening for everyone new tourist sites and monuments located outside the center, the city administration expects to “facilitate” a huge tourist weight, which exposed on some areas of Barcelona, such as the Old Town, El Borne and the Gothic Quarter. Especially the uneven distribution of tourists in the city felt during high tourist season, from May to October each year. Thus, when the new initiative everyone wins: city residents and tourists, eager for new experiences in your favorite city. Request for more new attractions is growing every year, as growing number of tourists visiting Barcelona.

The first step in the new program will be the release of Barcelona City Hall new tourist maps and guides, showing the location of the “unknown” monuments and attractions, such as parks, museums, sculptures and more. Such plans have been developed for each area municipality and approved by the Municipality of Barcelona the capital of Catalonia.

New routes will be open to the public starting from the end of April 2014 (after the celebration of Holy Week). From Plaça Catalunya, the undisputed center of the city, will be sent two mini bus for all those wishing to discover ” unknown Barcelona .” One of the routes will pass through the area Horta-Guinardó with its many parks and monuments, and the second route – on the 22 @ district of Sant Martí, most tech part of the city. Each ticket will cost 30 euros.
